DEATH HAS NOT TAUGHT US A LESSON

Has death not really taught us a lesson as humans?. Indeed, death has taught us lessons in diverse ways but we as humans have refused to learn the lessons.

Death which is inevitable to every living thing, humans inclusive, can come in any way or manner without us knowing how or when it will take us.

Death won't inform us, it won't give us a signal nor alarm as a notification that it is near. It doesn't need anybody's permission to take me or you. Even while asleep in a healthy condition it can take you.

Even at the highest peak of enjoyment, or at the most beautiful place in the world, it can take you.

You can be the most handsome or beautiful person in the world, death will still take you without seeking your permission, thereby, leaving your numerous dreams unattained.

You can be maltreating, oppressing or carrying out a bad or an evil activity while death takes you. Even, you can be doing good or passing the message of God to people while death still takes you.

As humans, death has taught us to care for one another while alive but we never learned. We rather choose to show concern after the demise of a beloved one.

Death has taken somebody so close to us unexpectedly. By this, we're supposed to be cautious of our actions and inactions but we continually act in supremacy with the odd perception of dying at old age alone.

Death has taken our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters neighbours, friends and more. We at such moments should be emphatic to the welfare of others in the family but we move on with lives forgetting that there are people left in the family vulnerable without help.

The wealthy people, the celebrities, the Artistes, the religious preachers and other renown people in the world have been taken by death. The death of this category of people clearly shows to us the nothingness of this world. But instead of us to be extending hands of fellowship to the vulnerable and those who are prone to challenges and in need of our help, we choose to oppress them with our wealth.

We have seen political leaders who have died while in the seat of power, but there are many who at this privilege keeps siphoning the public funds and suppressing the common man.

Death has taught us to be humble but pride keeps eluding us.

Death has taught us to reconcile with our family and friends but we keep feeling unconcerned.

Death has taught us to be sincere and truthful but we keep using lies to cover up wrongs and evils.

Death has taught us to be benevolent and care for one another while alive but greed keep eluding and ruining us.

Death has taught us to invest much in humans instead of acquiring unnecessary and unneeded materials wealth but our guests to receive praises from the world and make headlines won't allow that.

Death has taught us to keep our hands off evils but we keep dipping our hands more in perpetrating evils.

Death has taught us to be compassionate and empathetic but we have refused to show kindness and understanding to people.

Death has taught us about the finiteness of life and time but our behaviours portray that of immortality.

Has death taught you a lesson?.

If we have learnt from the lessons death has taught us, we can live a just life.
