TAWARI CHIEFDOM HAD LOST ITS SECOND-IN-COMMAND, AS KOGI STATE BCDU CHAIRMAN PAID A CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE ROYAL FATHER OF THE CHIEFDOM.

Early hours of Monday, 6th July, 2026, the ancient Tawari chiefdom in Kogi LGA, Koton Karfe, Kogi state, was struck with bereavement, as the Madaki (the second-in-command) of the chiefdom, Late chief Salihu Yimaba Madaki joined his ancestors.

The chairman of Bassa Cultural and Development Union, Kogi state chapter, Hon. Michael Adakeke Ndazhaga with other personalities paid a sympathy visit to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Idris Yusuf Tawari, the Aguma of Tawari chiefdom, at his Abuja residence over this gigantic loss.

Expressing grief during the visit to the Aguma over the demise of the revered, traditional title holder, Hon. Adakeke describes the deceased person's death as a profound loss, not only to Tawari chiefdom but entire Bassa community in Kogi Local government Area.

In his words of consolation, the union's chairman noted that, man is mortal in nature, describing death as a natural phenomenon, a garment for everyone, and a necessary end to all living creatures, urging His Highness, the immediate family of the deceased, and the entire chiefdom to find solace in their hearts, at this difficult time.

Till his death, Late Salihu Yimaba Madaki was a great man of substance, filled with courage and well respected elder, whose wisdom guided the Chiefdom and the Bassa community in Kogi LGA. His death has created a vacuum that can hardly be filled.

Hon. Adakeke prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace, while seeking for divine comfort to grant the immediate family and entire chiefdom the fortitude to bear the loss.
