What is even more dist is how rampant and common these incidents have become. A large percentage of road accidents that claim lives in this country are linked to Dangote trucks. Families are thrown into mourning, communities are left devastated, and yet the death toll keeps rising.

This raises critical questions: Are the drivers of these trucks properly trained and licensed? Are safety standards followed? Or has the country simply become numb to the senseless loss of lives on our highways?

The truth is simple and bitter, Dangote trucks, in their current mode of operation, have become a menace on Nigerian roads. The time has come for decisive action. Both the government and the Dangote company must urgently step up to curtail these tragedies. This includes stricter regulations, thorough re-certification of drivers, and proper safety audits to ensure that road users are protected.

Dangote vehicles have been crushing innocent people for a very long time and seemingly getting away with it. Have you seen the type of drivers that operate those massive trailers? Many appear unfit, reckless, and untrained to handle such heavy-duty machines.

With the rising reports of accidents involving Dangote trucks, it is high time the Dangote Group took responsibility by setting up a Standard Truck Driving Training School for their current drivers and those who will be employed in the future. Lives should not continue to be lost due to negligence.

The government must also step in.At this point, if I am not mistaken, Dangote has thousands of trucks spread across the country. Allowing untrained or poorly trained drivers to continue operating them is putting the lives of all Nigerians at risk.

The way many of these drivers handle the trucks suggests they could be under the influence of substances, driving carelessly without regard for human life. To reduce accidents, there must be strict enforcement of speed limits on all heavy-duty vehicles in Nigeria and consistent monitoring of compliance.

Enough is enough. Human lives are too valuable to be wasted daily on our roads because of reckless driving and lack of accountability.

Nigeria cannot afford to continue losing her citizens to preventable accidents. Human lives are too precious to be wasted so recklessly. Accountability must be demanded, and safety must be prioritized.

If nothing is done, the menace will only grow—and more families will be left grieving loved ones who should still be alive today.
